40th AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix Nurburgring

In 2012 the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a unique motorsport festival for the whole family. From 10th to 12th August, the most beautiful, rarest and most fascinating race cars in motorsport history will meet at the Nürburgring to revive the past for a weekend. The line-up ranges from the rare pre-war models that were used to battle for points and prestige in the twenties and thirties to the touring cars from the eighties. Visitors will be able to marvel at Formula One race cars as well as at unique sports prototypes. In keeping with tradition, the AvD Historic Marathon on the legendary Nordschleife will open the event on Friday (10th August). On Saturday and Sunday, the races, GLP (regularity) tests, show laps and parades at which the sportiest models of days gone by can be admired in action once more will follow on the Grand Prix circuit.
